Making Wastelands Grow

Fleet street hill

Our first garden is two and a half acres of land on the south side of Grimsby Street and on the north side of Pedley Street, E1. It is nestled between two train lines.
  • We have a ‘meanwhile use lease’ with the landowners on a six month rollover.
  • There is a two month ‘break clause’ allowing the landowner to give us this amount of notice before the date they wish us to leave.
  • We pay a peppercorn rent for use of the land.
  • There is no access to water or electricity so we harvest rain from the shelters we’ve built and generate power through solar panels.
